The Coated Diplomat is slightly warmer than the Clear Diplomat due to a thin layer of coating on the single layer of Mylar film. They're known for their bright warm tones, resonance, and sustain. For drum set use, the head is coated on the top side creating a texture excellent for playing with brushes. The coating is specifically put on the underside of the banjo head for the comfort of a banjo player's finger picking style.
